Welcome to the
NaturaConnect Learning Platform
.

This is the capacity building hub of the NaturaConnect project. Here, you find different training modules created by project partners that help to improve professional capacity to design and implement the Trans-European Nature Network (TEN-N).

  • Organised in 3 sections with 11 modules.
  •  5 modules of background information.
  • 2 modules of processes and instruments.
  •  4 modules of project outcomes.
  •  Links to external project resources.

This module covers the funding opportunities available for implementing a coherent, resilient, and effectively managed Trans-European Nature Network (TEN-N). Based on the costs associated with the TEN-N, it gives an overview of the private finance and EU public funding realms, as well as the costs related to spatial conservation prioritisation.

Tutorial

Scenarios on Climate Change

Empty space, drag to resize

In this tutorial, we explain how to calculate various metrics of climatic risk and assess climate exposure using a case study from the NaturaConnect project. This information is essential to define climate-proof conservation strategies, enabling conservation planners to enhance the climatic resilience of new PAs and corridors within the expanded Trans-European Nature Network (TEN-N).

Political Economy Analysis (PEA): Your Key to Navigating Environmental Governance Challenges

Empty space, drag to resize

This webinar, tailored for NGOs, protected area networks, and regional governance bodies, introduced participants to the fundamentals of PEA and its practical application in environmental governance and conservation. Participants discovered how PEA can help navigate complex governance challenges, enhance decision-making, and strengthen the impact of their work.

Module 1.1

Training Module

 Trans-European Nature Network (TEN-N)

Empty space, drag to resize

This module provides an overview of current protected area coverage in Europe and introduces learners to the concept of the TEN-N. It will explore key features of an adequate, resilient and effective TEN-N that contributes to protecting 30% of EU land and helps put biodiversity back on the path to recovery, in line with the EU Biodiversity Strategy for 2030.

Building a resilient ecological network of conserved areas
across Europe for nature and people

Empty space, drag to resize
How can we maximise our conservation efforts in Europe? How can we realise an ecologically, representative, resilient and well-connected network of conserved areas across all countries?

With the tools and knowledge created by NaturaConnect, we aim to support the EU Member States in their conservation efforts and to jointly achieve the 30x30 target.

Our Stakeholder Community.

The NaturaConnect Stakeholder Community is an online platform that brings together the perspectives and ideas of a diverse community interested in the design of the Trans-European Nature Network.

By joining the community, you will receive project updates and have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of NaturaConnect activities, such as stakeholder events and research activities that will help to create impactful results of the project.
